Graham graduated from the University of Sydney in 1987, after which he worked as an Assistant Lecturer in Small Animal Medicine at Massey University. He then undertook a Small Animal Medicine Residency at the University of Queensland in 1991. In 1993 Graham assumed a role as a Registrar/Senior Registrar at the University of Sydney. From 1999 to 2005 Graham was a Clinical Assistant Professor at Washington State University. From 2005 to 2009 he was a staff specialist at the Veterinary Specialist Centre in Sydney, and in 2009 became a staff specialist at the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Sydney where he was also Hospital Director. Graham joined IDEXX in 2011, working as an Internal Medicine Consultant and Medical Affairs Veterinarian. He was involved on the ASAVA Executive Committee for nine years and is still the Scientific Convenor.
